Why 'Segmented Minds'...

Hello World !!!

Segmented Minds is a blog that aims to become a platform for enthusiasts to read about the experience of a budding engineer at things that most of the times do not work. Not the best opening line you may say, but it is the thrill of sitting down solving those problems and finally cracking them that makes it so very interesting.

To start with I am an undergraduate student of electrical and electronics engineering (more info about me in the profile section) with a passion for computer vision and robotics and just to make it sound really cool, research. A few years back, when everything was nice and there were no lab reports and grades to worry about, the word research brought to mind some really great old people (the ones you read about in books) doing some really awesome stuff that you as a person will NEVER be able to understand. Well I won't say that it has changed much, but being in one of the top engineering colleges in the country(thankfully :)), I certainly have developed a keen interest for research oriented work, especially in embedded systems and computer vision.

What I plan to post here in days to come, is some of the work I like to do in my free time, the difficulties faced in getting it to actually work and hopefully some really cool robots that can 'see'. Oh and if you ask why such a name to a technical blog, well you can take it in any of the following ways:

For people into Image Processing: Yeah yeah u gotta segment everything first to make sense out of it :|
For those into lot of Coding : yeah, most of the time is spent in a dear old friend, the segmentation fault.
For the visionaries : Well I plan to make it as versatile as possible to show how different fields apply to robotics
For others : I just wanted it to sound nice :)

Please let me know if you have any suggestions...
